August 2010 - The Obama administration promises $147 million in annuall payments to Brazil cotton farmers in order to avoid their threat of sanctions and tarriffs recently approved by the WTO (approved because the new farm bill failed to address the $3 billion in direct support provided to US cotton farmers, which nearly matches the entire value of domestic cotton production).

August 2010 - Blanch Lincoln (D-ARK), despite a new permanent disaster program SURE being recently installed for agricultural support, wants Obama to deliver $1.5 billion in new disaster aid after her bill failed in the senate.  Lincoln received a letter from the White House Friday 8/6 assuring her of the funds.  Lincoln is up for reelection this fall.
